Approval record: Sample run
Record the selected type family, peak inlet flow, inlet pressure, maximum inlet temperature, ambient temperature, oil class, required pressure dew point and the SAT sample tap. Ask whether a witnessed dew-point run uses buyer-representative inlet air. List quantity, destination, electrical supply and cooling-water data for refrigerated circuits. Optional budget (currency, per-unit or whole-order) and supplier preference may sit on the same sheet; they are buyer screening notes, not verified factory grades. No existing quotation is required to open this record.
Site readiness
What filter and dryer pressure losses are included? Write the dirty-condition delta-P that each bidder includes for pre-filters, the dryer and after-filters so the plant compressor still meets working pressure at the tools (bar / psi). Ask each factory to state connected load (kW), supply frequency (Hz), footprint (mm / in), and corrected throughput at the named hottest inlet and ambient temperatures rather than brochure scfm. Are purge air or regeneration energy included in operating figures? Heatless towers consume purge; heated towers consume heaters plus some purge; refrigerated circuits consume electricity and often cooling water. If those utilities are omitted, the lowest machine price is not the lowest procurement cost. Name drain piping, bypass, electrical landing and whether operator walkthrough is extra. Spare parts kits stay extra unless the offer lists them.
